Our History

Nestled just 30 minutes from metro St. Louis, amidst the scenic Missouri River Valley wine country, lies a historic gem - the Augusta Harmonie Verein. Built in 1869 by German settlers as a community music center, this landmark served as the heart of Augusta for over 50 years. Imagine lively gatherings, six grand festivals annually, musical performances, and even town meetings all taking place within these very walls!

The Harmonie Verein's legacy of community and cultural enrichment continues to this day. In 1920, the building became home to American Legion Post 262, and in 2019, it was entrusted to the care of the Augusta Heritage Foundation. This local non-profit, led by passionate Augusta residents with a love for the arts and history, ensures the Harmonie Verein thrives as a vibrant performing arts center.

Experience the perfect harmony of history and music. Step back in time and feel the spirit of the original Verein. Today, the Augusta Harmonie Verein offers a diverse calendar of events, from captivating performances by acclaimed artists to delightful gatherings that foster a sense of community. Together we create Harmonie.
